After a good night’s sleep, we woke up excited and ready to go on a 4-mile hike in Congaree National Park in Gadsden, SC. We walked along the peaceful forest and discovered many beautiful sights. We crossed paths with many dogs and we even saw a few snakes. At the end of our hike we took a snack break and chitchatted under the sun. We returned and relaxed for a little while. We enjoyed yummy pasta and a delicious salad made by Jennifer and Raphael.
After dinner, we had a brief reflection taking about our contribution to society and what more we can do for the community. Then we set personal goals for what we want out of this alternative breaks experience. We are looking forward to working with our community partners tomorrow.
